A Type B FIBC is the anti-static bag you specify when the product is a combustible dust but the filling point has no reliable ground. The fabric itself limits the energy of a spark, so the bag does not need a grounding tag or an earth connection — which is exactly why it is used where earthing is impractical, such as mobile filling stations and short transfer runs.
| Type | Type B, anti-static, no grounding required |
| Fabric | Anti-static PP woven, low breakdown voltage |
| Structure | 4-loop, open top, flat bottom |
| Safe working load | 500 – 2000 kg |
| Lifting | 4 corner loops, 70 mm webbing |
| Options | Coating, PE liner, discharge spout, document pocket |
| MOQ | From 500 pieces |
No earth cable to forget — the anti-static fabric does the work, so a missed grounding step cannot turn the bag into an ignition source.
Built for dust, not vapour — it suits combustible dusts such as sugar, flour, starch and many powders, where a Type C earth path would be over-specified.
Same handling as a standard bag — four loops, open top, flat bottom; no new filling equipment.
Cheaper than Type C — no conductive yarn and no grounding hardware.
Type B is not the right bag where flammable gases or solvents are present. Those atmospheres need the conductive path of a Type C bag earthed at the filling point, or the dissipative fabric of a Type D bag. Choosing between the three is the first decision in any FIBC specification, and it is driven by what is in the air, not by what is in the bag.
Sugar, flour, starch and other combustible food dusts
Powdered chemicals with dust hazard
Filling points without a reliable earth connection
Mobile or temporary filling stations
Fabric weight, anti-static treatment, seam strength, loop pull strength and dimensions are checked per batch. Filled bags are drop tested and loops lift tested at rated load before shipment.
No. That is its defining advantage: the fabric limits spark energy without a grounding path.
No. Where flammable vapours are present, use an earthed Type C bag or a Type D static dissipative bag.
Type C carries conductive threads that must be earthed; Type B relies on low-breakdown fabric and needs no earth connection.
From 500 pieces per size and design. Compare all ton bag types before specifying.
